Deniz Kurtcepe, based in Amsterdam, stands as a luminary in the multidisciplinary design realm. His craftsmanship extends from Interactive Experiences to Digital Product Design, UI/UX, and from Conceptual 3D Design to the intricacies of 3D Product, Vehicle, and Industrial Design.
Deniz embarked on his design odyssey as a digital product designer. Early in his journey, he crafted solutions for Heineken, innovating automatic calculations for cider contents in the factory and designing UI while researching user challenges encountered by factory workers.
His subsequent endeavor with Lynk&Co, a subsidiary of Volvo, saw him masterfully curate the visual and UI designs for their connectivity apps. Here, Deniz unearthed his affinity for textured palettes and monolithic design philosophies, which eventually became his distinct signature.
Not long after, he took the reins for Etihad Airways. Tasked with reinventing their travel companion app, Deniz and his team introduced designs that minimized passenger stress during travel while maximizing engagement between passengers and the airline.
At Reaktor B.V, he championed multiple projects as a senior designer, including Yezzy, and steered the UI and UX design for Aalto University's online course platform—a thriving platform accessed by thousands of students. Various e-commerce projects followed suit, with a strategic UI design role at Moncler marking a significant milestone.
Deniz's Elementz project speaks to his innate drive to stretch beyond perceived limits. What began as a playful exploration in Digital Interactive Design soon grew into a passion project, blending HMI and interactive experiences. Sketching the vehicle body from scratch, he ventured deep into the realms of 3D design, understanding intricate production norms and enriching his design narrative. Elementz stands as an experimental beacon, exploring the convergence of the physical and digital, innovating at their intersection.
With Polestar, Deniz donned the hats of both Lead Designer & Art Director. Recognizing the non-linearity of customer journeys, he aimed to create an experience supporting diverse customer behaviors. By blending brand and product content, he orchestrated a homepage experience that was as functional as it was persuasive. His focus spanned Customer Experience, User Experience, and the fine art of User-Aesthetic Motion and UI.
Deniz, with an obsessive allure for the convergence of physical and digital design perspectives, assumed a leadership role in the perfect project: Cathay Pacific's Inflight Entertainment system. In this endeavor, he harnessed his expertise to redefine inflight entertainment, weaving seamless interactions despite hardware constraints and setting new paradigms in passenger experience.
In the quiet spaces between his projects, Deniz delved into the 3D realm—sketching vehicle designs and industrial products. These artistic excursions granted him fresh perspectives, driving him to explore the depths of the automotive world. Building upon his user-centric expertise from prior projects, he conceived harmonious dashboard concepts and screen interfaces for vehicles at the Human Machine Interface level. The world of 3D augmented his imagination, transporting him to ethereal atmospheres.
What began as a focus on HMI and interiors blossomed into an extensive design project, culminating with the vehicle's exterior. The monolithic design language he employed bestowed a unique character upon the vehicle, solidifying it as his signature.
